What we refuse to say
No invented volumes, APR, or specs. City/state counts stay unknown without a cited market_series.
This OS will not invent a number to sound helpful. If inventory has no asking price, listing copy says “see store.” It will not mint an MSRP, APR, or monthly payment. Those figures are finance or manager facts, not model-directory facts, and they are not guessed from a similar trim.
We refuse city, state, and postal sales volumes unless a cited market_series exists at that grain. Official OEM investor reports stop at country or macro-region (and sometimes powertrain). “How many RAV4s sold in this metro?” is unknown without a licensed or government series. A rooftop sold log is this store only — never a national rank.
We refuse invented specs. Walkaround lines come from official claims with a source, or they stay off the card. Overlay directories are citations, not OEM. Do not promote unofficial nameplates. Do not invent OEM paint codes. Seed paints use marketing names already known; missing chips stay empty.
We refuse to treat catalog or PhotoBooth stills as this VIN. Factory colour examples are labelled as such. Recolor-as-unit is a refuse. Catalog-as-unit is a refuse unless a human marks a true pack-shot exception the channel allows. Damage-free redraws, odometer edits, plate swaps, and VIN touches are refuse.
Agents, Listing Studio, and first-response all inherit these refusals. The grain check runs before anyone states a unit count. HITL still applies after a legal sentence — autoSend and autoPublish stay false. Saying unknown is correct. Filling the silence with a plausible figure is not.
When a shopper asks for a payment, a city rank, or “make it the other colour,” answer from the rooftop card or say we do not have that fact. Intelligence exists so the desk can be specific without becoming fiction.
