Working a lead card (notes, match inventory, first-response draft)

Open the lead from the pipeline. Notes stay internal. Match this-VIN stock. Draft first reply lands in Approvals.

Open a lead from the pipeline board at /leads/[id]. The card shows the contact, vehicle interest, source, owner, and the automotive stage. Move the stage with the dropdown: New Lead, Contacted, Test Drive Scheduled, Deal Pending, Sold / Delivered, or Lost.

Notes are internal. Save a note from the card; it becomes an activity on this lead. Notes do not send to the customer.

Inventory match ranks real units on this lot — stock number first, then year/make/model, then make/model. Confidence is high, medium, or low. A "No inventory match" badge means do not name a unit or a price. The matcher never invents a VIN.

Draft first reply calls the first-response agent. It writes SMS or email from the lead plus the matched unit, then lands in Approvals. Critique may strip a price line. The card says "Not sent." Review the draft at /approvals.

Suggest next step is a floor coach only — summary, next action, talk track, risk flags. It does not send a message. First-touch SLA on New Lead cards still needs a human touch recorded.

If you mention money, use only the asking price already on that unit. Never invent APR, payment, or city sales counts.
